Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-based approach to religious education that uses hands-on materials rooted in Scripture and Liturgy to inspire wonder in the child and nurture a personal, prayerful relationship between the child and the Good Shepherd. Our Level 1 CGS program is open to all SMV parishioners, ages 3-5. Sessions for the 2026/27 school year will be held at the following times:
Mondays 4-5:30pm
Tuesdays 9-10:30am and 4-5:30pm
Wednesdays 4-5:30pm

Registration for 2026-2027 sessions will be available here on July 1st, 2026. Sessions will be limited to 10 children each.
**Please note: Children should be fully potty-trained and no older than 5 years old on or before Sept 1 of the year they will begin CGS.
If your child is enrolled in K3 at St. Mary’s Visitation School, you do NOT need to register for a CGS session – they will receive Catechesis of the Good Shepherd during their regular school hours.
If your child is enrolled in K4 or K5 at Saint Mary’s Visitation School, please register for a CGS session listed above that is outside of their regular school hours.
